Initially discovered needle felting several years ago seeing kits on display at a Japanese bookstore. A super cute kitty caught my eye so I picked up the package - the back was clear and inside I could see a bunch of colored fluff and some plastic eyes.

I quickly put it back thinking NO WAY I could ever get that fluff to resemble the kitty shown on the package. And… how?!

In 2019 I saw an article about 3-D felted animals, read a bit more about the process and was even more intrigued. A kit was ordered online "just to see". In between order and receipt I obsessively watched YouTube tutorials and read up about various beginner techniques till the package arrived.

The first time I experienced the 'crunch' of the felting needle on wool. I fell in love with needle felting - 2D in particular. The medium is well-suited for my detailed style.

Living creatures and capturing the small details are most inspiring to me.
